Most of us didn't get into this work to build a personal brand. We got into it because a message, a mission, or a room full of people needed someone who could say it clearly.
Then the work got heavy. Creative directors carrying a church's voice. Communicators inside nonprofits who are the strategy, the copy, and the crisis plan. Leaders who love the mission and still go home wondering if anyone else feels the same tension.
We kept meeting those people in green rooms, on staffs, and on calls that ran long, and we kept hearing the same quiet line: I don't have anyone who gets this.
The internet is full of advice. It is short on peers. Friends of the Fox is the room we wished we had. Not another content dump.
